Pugh and Braff reunited publicly at the film’s red carpet event, which was also the first time they walked the carpet as a couple. As reported, the ex-lovers were beaming as they posed attractively and wore matching black and white outfits with coordinating patterns.

The “Lady Macbeth” actress donned a cropped black blouse with flared sleeves and gray plaid trousers while her companion opted for a similar patterned suit with white underwear.

Their red carpet appearance came after Pugh announced the end of their relationship last year, and in early February, she reflected on why their affair was criticized in an interview with Vogue. He touched on their twenty-year age difference, saying, “We’re not ahead of anyone. Only people don’t like it. They imagined me with someone younger and someone in a blockbuster movie.”

“I think young relationships in Hollywood are so easily twisted,” continued the 27-year-old. “Because they added gossip sites. It’s interesting to watch. And I thought I was in a relationship that did none of that.

“The Little Drummer Girl” actress first confirmed she was single in August 2022, in a chat with HARPERS BAZAAR. She revealed that she and Braff had tried to break up without the world knowing because everyone had an opinion about their engagement.

“We just feel like something like this would benefit us not to have millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together. So we’ve done it,” explained Pugh.

The years after the accident lead Allison into a relationship with her future father-in-law, played by Morgan Freeman, who urges her to move on with her life.

The English actor admits that their partnership in the project is something he greatly appreciates. In his words, “The film we made together was probably one of my favorite experiences. It felt like a very natural and easy thing to do.”

Pugh isn’t the only one who has a good feeling about working with the “Scrubs” alum, who feels the same way about her ex.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Braff, who is the director, knew he wanted to write the role of Allison solely for Pugh after they first worked with her on the short film, “In the Time It Takes to Get There.” Speaking about the process, he said,

The actor had good things to say about his “perfect” acting prowess in the latest project, adding “Most of the actors, the director is there to shape them and steer them, and in the editing room you really shape the show. “But no there is not one thing that Florence does that is not right, in my brain as the person who wrote it

He described the relationship between him and the Oscar nominee as one between a violinist and a conductor in an Opera setting. In his words, “You don’t really teach or tell a first violinist how to play. You might be like, ‘Hey, a little louder here, a little softer here.’ But you just watch in awe at the first violinist playing because they are incredible. I think it was with Florence.”
