A Florida man has been accused of shooting and killing his pregnant teenage girlfriend and her unborn child after she refused an abortion, officials said yesterday.
Donovan Faison, 21, was arrested Tuesday for the double murder of his girlfriend Kaylin Fiengo, 18, and her nearly 10-month-old baby after the young mother was found shot to death in her car at a Sanford park, Sanford police said.
Fiengo had driven to Coastline Park on the night of Nov. 11 to meet Faison, according to police.
That same night — after 11 p.m. — he was found dead with a gunshot wound in the driver’s seat of his parked car.
A Sanford police officer patrolling the park noticed the car had backed into a parking lot and was still running. When he peered inside, he found Fiengo’s body in the driver’s seat, police said.
The couple had often argued about the teenager’s pregnancy in the previous weeks.
Faison reportedly wanted Fiengo to terminate her pregnancy but she refused and investigators believe her refusal was a “possible motive” for her murder, Sanford police said in a statement.

The teenager was at the end of her first trimester at the time of her murder. Police have not said whether Faison is the father of the unborn child.
Sanford police arrested Faison on Tuesday and charged him with two counts of felony murder – one for Fiengo and one for his unborn child.
“Today’s incident occurred after a lengthy, nearly ten month, thorough investigation,” Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith said in a statement. “Our investigators have made sure every piece of evidence possible is processed and analyzed to bring Kaylin’s killer to justice.”
Fiengo also had a 1-year-old son named Ace and was a devoted mother, her parents said at the time of her death.
“Even though Kaylin is facing [many] a challenge that set him apart from his peers in many ways, he made friends wherever he went,” the teenager’s obituary said. “Kaylin loves spending time with her son, siblings, and friends. Kaylin is definitely a fun-loving kid with an old soul.”

Smith said he hopes Faison’s arrest will bring closure to the heartbroken family.
“This beautiful young woman and mother, was taken from this world far too soon, and in a terrible way,” Smith said. “We hope today’s arrest brings some peace to Kaylin’s family and the son she left behind. It doesn’t bring him back, but at least he will get the justice he deserves.”
