Florida man makes ‘dirt angels’ while hiding from cops following Christmas Eve car crash, bizarre video shows

A Florida man was seen making “dirt angels” at a construction site while hiding from police after crashing his car last week, according to footage captured by law enforcement.

Eliezer Armando Reyes Rios, 34, was beaten leaving the scene; driving with a revoked, suspended or revoked license; and trespassing on a construction site, among other charges related to the bizarre incident, officials said today.

Reyes Rios was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Christmas Eve and managed to escape the “prying eyes” of responding deputies while they were gathering information at the scene, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect ignored the deputy’s commands and climbed a fence into a construction zone, where he was seen by the sheriff’s Aviation Unit hovering in a pile of dirt, video captured by a helicopter plan.

Reyes Rios got into the “holiday spirit” and made a “dirt angel,” while hiding in the sewer, according to the sheriff.

“Just so you all know, he was just laying there with his hands behind his head,” the pilot told deputies on the ground.

After rolling around in the dirt, Reyes Rios appeared to take a phone call before he ran away again and climbed a different side of the fence to escape.

While still on the phone, he was met by three officers and a K-9, who told him to “get on the ground.”

“He ran away he hid in the dark. Under a hole in the ground he laid down, sometimes probably feeling the holiday spirit, making ‘Dirt Angels’ & making calls on his phone,” the sheriff’s office wrote mischievously. “Then he got up! He jumped the fence, up & over, only to find, not eight little reindeer, but 3 deputies & one devoted K-9.

The unit thanked its flight team for spotting him, writing: “Thank you to our Flight Unit, who did not see the big jolly man in red on Christmas Eve but instead found him playing in the dirt.”
