Florida man previously convicted of murder accused of punching teen who fought his son at bus stop: ‘He clearly has anger-management issues’

A Florida man serving six years in prison for murder has been arrested again after he attacked a 16-year-old boy who had fought with his son weeks earlier, according to police.

Jarrett Garrett McCabe, 47, stalked a bus stop in Lakeland after a neighbor told him that two boys had jumped his son on Monday, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said.

She was waiting to see if they would fight her son again, but when they got off the bus McCabe confronted them, police said.

McCabe told police he slapped one of the boys in the face with an open hand. According to a DoorDash driver who witnessed the attack, McCabe punched the boy in the face and twice in the stomach.

Investigators later learned that McCabe’s son had fought one of the teenagers — the boy McCabe hit — several weeks ago and another, who was with the victim, on Monday.

But he was not trespassed, police said.

Jarrett Garrett McCabe, 47,Jarrett Garrett McCabe, 47, was arrested after he allegedly punched a 16-year-old boy in the face.

The boy who fought with McCabe’s son on Monday and his mother spoke with McCabe and the boy apologized to her for fighting with her son after the incident.

“It’s understandable that a father would be upset about his child jumping, but waiting at a bus stop to beat up a child is not the example you want to set for your child,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement. “Based on this and his criminal history, he clearly has anger management issues.”
