Florida man threatens CVS workers with note saying he’ll ‘shoot the closest person’ if they don’t hand over drugs: cops

A Florida man handed a note to employees at an Orlando CVS saying he didn’t want to hurt anyone — but he would “shoot the closest person” — if they didn’t hand over prescription drugs he wanted, police said.

Thomas Mues, 23, allegedly gave the handwritten note to a pharmacy employee at the store on Curry Ford Road about 6 p.m. Oct. 20, according to WFLA News Channel 8 in Tampa.

Just below his warning — written in black marker — the brazen robber scrawled a detailed shopping list of the drugs he was looking for, including specific doses of oxycodone, hydrocodone, Xanax, Adderall, Viagra and liquid codeine, authorities said.

“THIS IS AN ARMED ROBBERY!!!,” the note was readaccording to Orlando police.

“Please cooperate, I don’t want to hurt your heart. You don’t have to worry anyone or I’ll shoot the person closest to me! Please follow these instructions or I will shoot the person closest to me!”

The pharmacy technician who dealt with Mues said he didn’t realize the store was being robbed at first and kept asking him routine questions — while he kept telling him to read the note, according to Law & Crime.

Authorities have hit him with numerous charges including robbery, trafficking and possession offences, WFLA said.

Witnesses said Mues kept his hands in his pockets the entire time and did not flash a gun, according to the website.

The bandit later wrote a letter of apology included in his affidavit, according to Law & Crime.

“It was not my intention to hurt anyone inside nor do I have a weapon,” he wrote.

“I know this may be traumatizing for everyone inside and I just want to apologize and let them know that I will help to put an end to it.”

The website said Mues is being held without bond in the Orange County Jail.
