Florida’s Surgeon General went on a tirade during a press conference protesting vaccines like those used for COVID-19, painting them as dangerous despite support from most doctors.
Longtime masked opponent Joseph Ladapo stood with Gov. Ron DeSantis to rip off the latest shot, which is expected to be available this month.
“There’s basically no evidence for it,” Ladapo said at the “Freedom Mandate” press conference in Jacksonville.
“This new COVID-19 RNA vaccine includes the fact that it actually causes heart injury in many people… call it subclinical myocarditis, the clinical significance is really unknown,” he said, referring to a condition that medical experts say is “very rare. ” side effects of Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.
The state surgeon general also claimed that no clinical trials had been conducted on the effects of the new booster on humans, a statement that was reported to be false.

And while the US Centers for Disease Control, the World Health Organization and most countries around the world consider the mRNA-style COVID-19 vaccine to be safe and effective, Ladapo rejects vaccine advocates and encourages people who don’t want to get the vaccine to go with their gut.
Lapado also praised the governor for standing up to experts with “PhDs and MDs” who insist on social distancing, masks and vaccinations even though his background is non-existent in the medical field.
“Remember the experience of listening to this highly educated person tell you what you should think but then listen in your heart to what makes sense, right? What feels right. You know what the truth feels like,” Lapado said.
