Former ‘Bachelor’ Host Chris Harrison Is Launching A Podcast

Chris Harrison is going to be in the spotlight again!

The former face of Bachelor Nation parted ways with the ‘Bachelor’ franchise last year, following his controversial stance on the public’s treatment of former ‘Bachelor’ contestant Rachael Kirkconnell.

Harrison defended Kirkconnell after photos surfaced of Kirkconnell attending a southern college fraternity party before the 24-year-old was a contestant on Matt James’ season of “The Bachelor.”

Harrison’s defense of Kirkconnell came during an early 2021 interview with Extra. Host an interview? Rachel Lindsay, who at the time was the only black woman to ever lead “The Bachelorette.”

After exiting the franchise, Harrison apologized and released a statement.

Former ‘Bachelor’ Jesse Palmer will eventually replace Harrison as the franchise’s permanent host. Former ‘Bachelorette’ Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe split as hosts before Palmer took over.

Almost two years after Harrison’s hiatus from the franchise turned into a permanent hiatus, he’s back in the spotlight once again!

Harrison Will Reportedly Open Up About His Exit From The Franchise

Harrison has been with Bachelor Nation since the beginning of the franchise. His time on Bachelor Nation spanned nearly two decades.

The former host will reportedly publicly discuss the circumstances that led to his highly publicized departure on the podcast.

In an Instagram post that was deleted after his exit Harrison wrote, “My ignorance has ruined my friends, colleagues and strangers. I have no one to blame but myself for what I say and how I speak. I set the standard for myself, and didn’t live up to it. I felt that with every fiber of my being. On the grounds of historical racism, I defended it. I used the term ‘woke police,’ which is unacceptable. I’m ashamed that I didn’t know. I was so wrong. ” (per The Blast)

The entertainer is not through discussing the matter.

The subject’s presence on the podcast was announced immediately. According to Variety, Harrison’s controversial exit from the franchise is discussed in the trailer for “The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever.”

“I haven’t spoken publicly for two years about this,” Harrison said, “and I have a lot of thoughts. I think about this every day, literally every day of my life, I think about this and what I want to say and how important it is that I talk to everyone for the first time. It’s heavy. Really heavy. We’ll see how…”

Getting the chance to tell his story publicly for the first time was an experience Harrison was looking forward to.

“I think it will be cathartic,” he added. “I’m looking forward to getting this off my shoulders and fixing this, moving forward and letting everyone hear from me.”

In his interview with Lindsay, Harrison claimed he was not defending Kirkconnell’s actions.

“Does it look good in 2018 [when the photos were taken] or is it not good in 2021?” Harrison asked Lindsay. “I don’t agree with you. You are one hundred percent correct… that was in 2018. Again I am not defending Rachel. I just know, I don’t know, 50 million people did that in 2018,” he claimed.

Harrison apologized to Lindsay several times following the controversy.

Bachelor Nation will be able to hear the first episode of “The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever” on January 9, 2023!
