Former Dancer Praised ‘Queen Lizzo’ After Amsterdam Allegations

Things just changed in a lawsuit filed against Lizzo by her former backup dancer.

Three of his former backup dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez, have made shocking claims that the “Truth Hurts” singer forced them to take part in sexual acts on adult entertainment shows and humiliated them.

After Lizzo slammed their “sensational” claims Thursday morning, fans weren’t sure who to believe, especially after one of the former backup dancers named in the lawsuit sang Lizzo’s praises after the alleged incident.

One of the women suing Lizzo, Arianna Davis, had nothing but positive things to say about the “Juice” singer after the alleged incident. In a video show in April 2023, Davis blasted “queen” Lizzo, saying that he just wanted to “follow in her footsteps.”

“It was amazing and such a beautiful journey. I look up to him so much,” Davis said in a video obtained by TMZ. “I just want to follow in her footsteps, and I just want to share it with Queen Lizzo herself.”

Lizzo’s attorney, Marty Singer, later told the outlet, “This doesn’t sound like the world of someone being harassed or discriminated against by someone they describe as ‘THE QUEEN.” The singer went on to say, “They say a picture is worth a thousand words and here the video shows that there is no valid claim in this lawsuit. We are confident that Lizzo will be given the full vindication in this matter.”

The outlet noted that Davis made the above comments after the European leg of Lizzo’s tour and after season 1 of “Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.” Davis made the comments in an interview for the show’s second season, where the former backup dancer tried to pass herself off as a singer. However, this video was shot after allegations of weight shaming.

Lizzo Charged with Sexual and Racial Harassment and Creating a Hostile Work Environment

As The Blast previously reported, Lizzo is not only being sued for sexual and racial harassment, but she is also being sued for allegedly creating a hostile work environment as well. The lawsuit was filed earlier this week in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The lawsuit was brought against the pop star, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson, her production company, Big Grrrl Big Tour, Inc., and her dance team captain, Shirlene Quigley. The three dancers claimed that they were pressured by the singer to touch the unclothed performer at a club in Amsterdam.

In Amsterdam, Lizzo takes her dancers to a club called Bananenbar, where customers can interact with these performers. “Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the naked performers, catching dildos that were launched from the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas that came out of the performers’ vaginas,” they allege in court documents.

Davis alleged that Lizzo allegedly “began pressuring” Davis to touch the chest of one of the performers, even though she “expressed her desire not to touch the performer.”

The lawsuit also accuses Quigley of shaming those who had premarital sex while “excessively sharing masturbation and sex life with her husband.” Davis also went on to claim that he endured weight-shaming from Lizzo.

“Lizzo and Ms. Scott question whether Ms. Davis is struggling with something because she seems less committed to her role in the dance cast. Lizzo and Ms. Scott pressed Ms. Davis for an explanation as to why she seemed less cheerful and energetic than before the tour began. In professional dance, a dancer’s weight gain is often seen as the dancer getting lazier or worse as a performer,” the lawsuit claims.

It continued, “Lizzo and Ms. Scott’s questioning of Ms. Davis’ commitment to the tour was a veiled concern about Ms. Davis’ weight gain, which Lizzo had previously brought to her attention after noticing it at the South by Southwest music festival.”

Davis claimed that she felt that “she had to explain her weight gain and reveal intimate personal details” in order to keep her job. Lizzo herself recently spoke out against the “unbelievable” and “delightful” claims that she insists on “fabrication”.
