Former NFL star Marcellus Wiley calls ‘BS’ on allegations he raped Columbia student in 1994

Former NFL defensive end and former Fox Sports commentator Marcellus Wiley denied Wednesday that he raped a fellow Columbia University student in his dorm room — calling the accusation “BS.”

In a lengthy video posted to his YouTube channel, Wiley dismissed his accuser’s claims and insisted “we did not have sex.”

The alleged victim — a sociologist with a focus on race and culture — filed a lawsuit in New York Supreme Court accusing Wiley, 48, of assaulting him in the fall of 1994, when he was a sophomore and star running back at Columbia University.

The former Buffalo Bills player admitted that he was “interested” in the alleged victim, with whom he spent the night during the fall of 1994 after being invited to his dorm room.

The freshman claimed in her lawsuit that Wiley tore off her clothes and “forced her face down onto the mattress,” where he repeatedly raped her, even though she begged him to stop and that she was still a virgin.

The encounter left the victim with a mental struggle, including suicidal ideation, the lawsuit said. She claims she met other women who had similar experiences to Wiley.

“If you’re a virgin, I’m not going to be your first, because I don’t look at it with the same respect, respect, respect that you should … We mess around, but there’s no vaginal intercourse,” Wiley said in a video response.

Later in the video, Wiley admits that the couple “did have sex.”

The former ESPN commentator recalled that the alleged victim began “talking trash” about her on campus, before claiming that she started the rumor to cover up the “shame” she felt for cheating on her boyfriend with Wiley.

“He was ashamed to mess with me when he was caught. He wasn’t embarrassed to pick me up … he was just embarrassed when he knew there was no future with me,” Wiley said.

The NFL star later denied claims that he had been punished by administrators for the alleged rape after his accuser came forward by being placed on academic probation and ordered to finish the Spring 1995 semester from his home in Los Angeles.

Instead, Wiley said he’s only studying remotely because of financial problems and because he plans to redshirt a year away from the team.

The lawsuit alleges that Columbia University administrators tried to shield Wiley from more severe repercussions in order to preserve his burgeoning NFL career.

“Nobody saw me like that,” Wiley said.

“Isn’t it interesting that a dean of women tells another woman that what he said to her doesn’t sound like anything? … So the worst college program in America is going to risk it all for me?”

Wiley added that he “fits the stereotype” as a “big black guy from Compton,” then said he would sue for defamation.

Throughout his defense, Wiley took aim at The Post repeatedly for spreading what he called “BS.”

“Major media is reckless and irresponsible to run any story that is an obvious lie. Everyone should be innocent until proven guilty and, in my case, you know the guilty part won’t happen,” one clear text says at the start of the video.

Ultimately, Wiley accused the alleged victim of filing a civil suit in hopes of pursuing financial gain from a successful athlete and commentator.

The lawsuit was filed under the Adult Survivors Act — which Wiley calls the “Cassie vs. Diddy law” — a New York law that allows victims of alleged sexual abuse whose claims exceed the statute of limitations to file a civil suit within a one-year period , until Nov. 24.

“Like any law, like anything, especially when you’re talking about civil suits, those protections are abused and this is certainly one of them. The statute of limitations for this is extended to November 24. And I think today is November 23,” he said before laughing.

“So you all know what it is. We all know what that is.”
