The director recently appeared on “Today,” where he opened up about the tragic death of Matthew Perry.

“He was very creative,” Burrows said of the late actor. “He’s creative in the way he draws lines.”

“I’ve had to have a few days to let it sink in. He’s part of the family and he’s the first person not to be part of the family anymore,” he added.

The 82-year-old then recalled the first time he met Perry, and his desk read “Friend”. “Wow. Reading around the table. Matthew has a certain way of changing lines,” Burrows shared.

“His facial expressions are amazing and Matthew can always cut his face,” she continued sharing. “He’s always aware that even when he’s not talking, he’s in front of the camera.”
