The Australian musician is gearing up to release his second album, “Drummer,” on August 11! The LP will be his first since 2020’s “About Us.”
Many listeners were likely introduced to G Flip’s music last year courtesy of their partner, reality star Chrishell Stause! Stause began dating G Flip publicly after the end of her relationship with “Selling Sunset” co-star Jason Oppenheim. The duo starred in G Flip’s music video together for their single, “GET ME OUTTA HERE,” and will give the reality TV world a glimpse of their relationship during the latest season of “Selling Sunset.”

The non-binary drummer has released two singles from “Drummer” so far: “Be Your Man” and “The Worst Person Alive.” On Saturday, they will allow fans a glimpse into the full album by sharing snippets of the song in an Instagram post. They will also be embarking on an Australian tour starting August 17th, and following that up with US dates starting mid-September!
G Flip Gets Ready To Release Their Second Album, ‘Drummer’
G Flip recently spoke with NME to discuss the significance behind the album’s inspiration!
According to G, “Growing up watching pop music icons, I never saw a solo artist whose main instrument was the drum. I wanted an album that my own son dreamed of, a fusion of pop/rock but with drums in front,” they continued, “Combining moments of groove, tempo, feel and drums while still making catchy pop music,” they explained in a press release about the record that. They will also share their feelings about the record on Instagram, when they shared the cover art for “Drummer” in June. They will write in the caption, “I’m so happy to announce that MY NEW ALBUM DRUMMER WILL BE OUT AUGUST 11!! I’ve been waiting years to share this with you all, thanks to anyone who has supported me ? drop some drum emojis if you’re interested…”
They also wanted to pay tribute to a very important figure in their musical upbringing: “Drummer” was also made in honor of their late drum instructor, Jenny.
G described the record to Rolling Stone as “My dream record – a tribute to kit, my younger self, and to Jenny.” The album’s earliest notes were inspired by a drum groove that G Flip planned to include on the track, the outlet reported.
