The original request requested all documents exchanged between Brian and his parents between July 2, 2021 and September 1, 2021.

Roberta’s lawyer is trying to prevent Gabby’s parents from getting a copy, but that wish was denied.

Petito-Schmidt Family Wins Civil Lawsuit Against Laundry

Per WFLAa Florida judge ruled that an undated letter written by Roberta to Brian could be entered into evidence in Petito-Schmidt’s civil suit against the Laundries and their attorney, Steven Bertolino.

Chris and Roberta’s lawyers argued that the FBI already had the letter when Brian’s body was found; however, Gabby’s family attorney argued the letter was found WITH Brian’s body.

Gabby’s ex-fiancé and eventual killer died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He confessed to killing the 22-year-old “van life” vlogger in a series of handwritten notebook entries.

Brian Laundrie says he can't live without Gabby Petito and loves her more than anything in a journal found with her remainsMEGA

Bertolino previously told ABC7 that Reilly’s request for the letter was his attempt to “sensationalize” old evidence to support the case.

“The letter was written by Roberta Laundrie and given to her son, Brian, before Brian and Gabby left Florida for New York,” Bertolino said in an email. “This information is not new. The FBI took possession of the letter and turned it over to me in June 2022 along with Brian’s other personal items. Reilly’s attorney tried to further sensationalize the contents of this letter to strengthen his case by taking irrelevant comments in the letter out of context. If the allegations of Mr. Reilly has merit, a reasonable person would think the FBI would act on that information. Therefore, you can draw your own conclusions about the validity of Mr. Reilly’s claims.”
