Gabrielle Union recorded her daughter explaining what happened and teasing her husband for his big game talk. The actor then captured his reaction to the sassy comment, along with his 20-year-old son Zaire’s take on it and an explanation of why he could believe he said it.
“What did you say to father?” Union asked Kaavia, who happened to be wearing a t-shirt from The Children’s Place’s Diversity Tee collection that read, “I Rule Daddy’s Heart.” Kaavia dramatically recalls what she said, “I said, ‘Hey bro, shut up bro,'” to her shocked mother who then asked her, “What was daddy thinking when you said that to him? What’s on your face, what does it look like where?” Kaavia responded by laughing just like her father.When asked if her father was laughing, she said yes and walked away.
Union then turned the camera to herself to mock her husband, recalling, “Oh, I wish he’d say something crazy to me!” He then added, “And you laughed!” before finding her husband to get his reaction on camera.
The video then cuts to Wade, who is standing with his son Zaire, as Union confronts him about how he reacted to his little girl’s funny remark. “I didn’t answer that,” Wade said calmly. Union then asked Zaire, “Can you believe it?” and he jokingly replied, “Oh, I can believe it. Kaav runs the house.” Wade laughed out loud at the thought.
In an attempt to defend his reaction to Kaavia’s sassy statement, Wade, who is also father to Zaya, 15, and Xavier, 9, added, “I’m definitely thinking about the kids though. I was like, ‘What would I do if Zaire or Zaya said that?'” Zaire jumped in to say, “We don’t run the house.”
