I was among the top three in the Femina Miss India contest. The organizers decided that I should represent India at Miss United Continent 2014. It was the first time the pageant went to the international level. I train regularly under various experts and professionals. I had a two-hour pilates session with Sameer Purohit, and a strict diet regimen – I had to eat every two hours to boost my metabolism. I received ramp walk training under Alesia Raut, diction training from Sabira Merchant, and smiling tips from Sandesh Mayekar, among other things. National competitions require you to perfect your walk and talk, but international competitions are more challenging. International participants are much more confident and efficient. Fortunately, I don’t have any weight or body issues, but I still need to work on my diction, gait, and improving my communication skills.

Two days ago, I was in Mumbai stuck in a traffic jam on my way to an event, and I saw an ambulance carrying a terminally ill person trying his best to find a way out of the traffic. I could see that no one was willing to move to make way for the ambulance, which really bothered me. What happened to humans? There is no value for human life. Also, the whole negativity towards rape victims bothers me. Why do we want to know what the victim is wearing or who she is with? Can’t we look at the inhumanity and try to find a solution? No one dresses a certain way to be raped. A low skirt or bright lipstick is not an invitation to rape.”
- According to Nicole, feminism means,
Feminism is important; it was the need of the hour. During the competition, I realized that there are many professions where women have yet to leave a mark. In my home state of Goa, not many young girls are encouraged to model. Some of them personally thanked me for being an example and inspiring them.”

- She gives advice to young girls and in an interview, she says,
Don’t enter a beauty pageant because you want to work in film and television. Think of it as a platform where you can represent your country and exchange your culture with the world.”
