Steve Burton has finally closed the door on his marriage.
The 53-year-old actor’s divorce from his wife, Sheree Gustin, was finalized after both parties reached an agreement. The move comes more than a year after their initial split.

A judge has approved a settlement between Burton and his now ex-wife, allowing them to share legal and physical custody of their two young children, Brooklyn and Jack.
In the agreement, the “Days of Our Lives” actress is obligated to pay Gustin $12,500 a month in child support for the children until April 2024. The total child support is $10,000 for nine-year-old Brooklyn and $2,500 for 17-year-old Jack .
After April, the monthly payment was reduced to $10,000 — an amount dedicated solely to Brooklyn until she turned 18. In other words, Burton’s child support obligations for Jack will end when he turns 18 at the end of March.
Although the parents of three waived their right to spousal support regardless of any “unforeseen circumstances,” there was an agreement for Burton to pay Gustin $50,000 in retroactive support. Payments will be made in installments of $2,500 per month, according to recently obtained legal documents reported by TMZ.
The outlet was the first to report that the “General Hospital” alum filed for divorce in July 2022, ending her 23-year marriage. This comes just two months after she confirmed that Gustin was expecting a baby that wasn’t his.

As they mark their 22nd anniversary in January 2021, Gustin posted a heartfelt tribute to her ex. He stated in a since-deleted post, “You’ve greeted me… It’s been a wild and crazy ride @1steveburton. AND He still manages to make me laugh almost every day. #22 years.”
Things reportedly went downhill after the actor was fired from his role as Jason Morgan on “General Hospital” in November 2021 for non-compliance with the production’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. At the time, an informant mentioned that the then-lovebirds experienced significant changes in their lives during this upheaval, which led to “chaos” in Burton’s life.

The insider revealed that before the split, Gustin had become “unhappy” and was looking for “something more.” They added, “Their life has been on the beach for a while. After being married for so long, it’s not unusual.”

Despite all that, Gustin hinted at expecting a fourth child by sharing a selfie showing off her baby bump via her Instagram Story in May 2022. The fitness instructor wrote across the image, “Life sure is full of surprises!” Shortly after, Burton shared his own update on his Instagram Story, writing:
“I want to explain something. Sheree and I broke up. She recently announced that she is pregnant with her 4th child. That child is not mine. We are still co-parents to our three beautiful children. We will appreciate your privacy at this time. So much love, Steve.”
Regardless of the announcement, the previously mentioned source declared that “The Young and the Restless” star and his ex-wife are committed to looking after the well-being of their children while maintaining a sense of normalcy as they move forward.
It’s worth noting that Gustin chose not to go public with their divorce or Burton’s claims about her pregnancy, which ended in February when she welcomed daughter Izabella. In fact, a few weeks after the birth, the mother of four shared a message about her priorities on social media.
“Some things I realized by giving birth to my 4th child in my 40s. I know how quickly it goes by. I don’t care about small things, and I do my best to be present with all my children and live in the moment. I know I’m far from perfect but my kids know they are loved and in the end that’s all that matters,” Gustin wrote.
