George Floyd’s Family Is Taking Legal Action

Floyd’s daughter, Gianna, and her mother, Roxie Washington, had had enough of West running the names of their dead family members through the mud with falsehoods. Washington and Gianna, announced this week that he has hired a lawyer and is prepared to fight West if he insists on continuing his hate speech and lies.
He also bound the rapper’s business partners and other associates for harassment, misappropriation, defamation and infliction of emotional distress. If you remember, West claimed that Floyd was not killed by Minneapolis police but instead blamed drug use. “They hit [Floyd] with fentanyl. If you look, the man’s knees are not on his neck like that.
He has also mocked his family and others by creating designs for his fashion brand that have the phrase “White Lives Matter” on the back.
George Floyd Family Attorney Releases Cease And Desist

In a cease and desist obtained by TMZ, attorney Alex Spiro stated:
“The Witherspoon Law Group on behalf of our client, hereby demands that you immediately cease and desist, and remove the “Drink Champs” interview and all similar statements regarding George Floyd from every podcast, website, advertisement and social media site, regardless of platform or medium.
For the record, the host from Drink Champs have already removed the episode in addition to dismissing anything West said on their drinks and chat podcast. That is smart for them because they can be b”allies” of the family lawyer mentioned in the letter.
The cease and desist also gives us insight into the mainframe of Gianna and her mother Roxie. “As you can imagine, our client is very distressed and hurt by the allegations you have made.”
Lawyer Lee Merritt Warns This Could Happen

Lee Merritt, an attorney who frequently comments on the case and is an ally of the family shared a statement on Instagram about the pending lawsuit. “
Ye’s statement regarding the death of #GeorgeFloyd was knowingly false and predictably offended Floyd’s immediate family members who were re-traumatized by his malicious comments.”
The lawyer spoke to TMZ about the incident and posted a video of the interview. Further down in the accompanying caption, Merritt shared that Floyd’s brother is also seeking legal action.
“When asked by George Floyd’s brother to investigate possible legal remedies on his behalf, my office agreed to provide our professional opinion on legal action. Recent cases, such as that involving family members of Sandy Hook mass shooting victim Alex Jones, provide precedent for recovery under some of the plausible theories we now consider.”
Sounds like two possible suits for West who seems to have spent money like crazy. He might want to start saving his coins to cover possible legal consequences headed his way.
