George Santos goes scorched earth on former colleagues, vows to file ethics complaints against 4 reps

Serial liar who shames Rep. George Santos blew the torch to former colleagues who voted to boot him from Congress, accusing them of four serious violations and vowing to file ethics complaints against them.

A few hours after his expulsion on Friday, Santos wrote on X that he would file a formal complaint on Monday, starting with Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island), whom he suggested participated in “insider trading” — without Santos providing a shred of evidence.

“Monday I will fill [sic] formal complaint with the Office of congressional Ethics against @NMalliotakis regarding his questionable stock trading since joining this Congressional Ways and Means committee,” Santos wrote in his tirade before midnight.

“Prior to joining the committee, the congressman had no active trading habits or high volume interests. The question is, what information set is he trading?”

In another post, Santos christened his fellow Republican “Nicole MalioStock Tips. The signature bank trades she makes REEKS of insider trading just like every one of Paul Pelosi’s!”

Malliotakis bought as much as $15,000 in stock from Community Bancorp after a meeting with federal regulators earlier this year about the impending collapse of Signature Bank. Its share price exploded when it was later announced that the bank would acquire Signature, The Hill reported.

Santos, who is openly gay, also made sexual innuendos about Malliotakis, who as a state lawmaker voted against gay marriage but later said he regretted his position.

“@NMalliotakis the difference between you and me is that I don’t live in denial, I’m a PROUD GAY man and I’m not afraid to say it,” Santos said.

“We are not reacting to the expulsion of George Santos because he is a disgraced and known serial liar,” Malliotakis spokeswoman Natalie Baldassarre said, adding that her boss denied all his allegations.

Next, Santos targets Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) top.

“On Monday I will be filing an Ethics complaint against @RepMikeLawler for questionable campaign finance violations,” Santos wrote. “Congressman Lawler owns part of Checkmate Strategies and he uses the same firm that he is a beneficiary of to pay for services related to his campaign. The questions are; [sic] is Mr. Lawler involved in money laundering [sic] his campaign to his firm then into his own pocket?”

Lawler’s congressional campaign did pay his own consulting firm, City and State reported in October 2022. Lawler’s team said at the time that he went “above and beyond, instructing the firm’s accountants to deprive him of any profits resulting from his campaign.”

“Being attacked by a serial liar and con man like George Santos is a badge of honor,” said Lawler’s spokesman, Nate Soule.

Santos also went after fellow Long Island Rep. Nick LaLota (R-NY), who once chaired the Suffolk County Board of Elections.

“LaLota earned her JD attending Hofstra in day school while she was supposed to be working on the Board of Selectmen at the same time,” Santos claimed. “The action in question is? Is Rep Lalota not present to pay his taxes [sic] funded jobs while going to school and if so he could potentially [sic] has stolen public funds from NY taxpayers.”

LaLota did serve as a GOP election commissioner while simultaneously attending Hofstra, prompting Suffolk’s legislative chairman, Democrat DuWayne Gregory, to demand his time sheet, Newsday reported in 2017.

“It is difficult for me to understand how Mr. LaLota can attend law school classes during the day in Hempstead and at the same time do his job at the Board of Elections in Yaphank,” Gregory said at the time.

A representative for LaLota said Santos “is just angry that the congressman has three real degrees while he lied about having them.”

Santos promised a fourth ethics complaint against Rep. Rob Menendez (D-NJ), a freshman New Jersey congressman and son of Sen. Bob Menendez — who faces a string of federal corruption charges.

“There are still questions about what he knew and when he knew, his complaint is to get an explanation from the new congressman about his involvement with his father who dealt abroad for years and any potential compensation he received,” Santos wrote.

Menendez did not respond to a request for comment.
