Georgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones appears to be the latest Republican lawmaker to fall victim to “swatting,” he said in a social media post Thursday.
The alleged case of “swatting” — the term for when law enforcement responds to false claims of violent incidents at the homes of unsuspecting people — follows several other reports of fake 911 calls involving mostly GOP politicians over the past week.
“Last night, my house was ‘hit’. This morning, a bomb threat was called into my office. Thankfully everyone is safe, and I commend our local law enforcement officers for their professionalism,” Jones wrote on X.
A bomb threat was made to The Post’s Jackson, Ga., district office, and the incident is being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the FBI.
“Let me be clear — I will not be intimidated by those who try to silence me. We will end this madness. We are in full compliance with law enforcement, and I am confident that those responsible will be brought to justice and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” added Jones.
The GBI Cyber Unit is “working closely with our local, state and federal partners to determine who is responsible for the recent beatings of several Georgia lawmakers,” the agency told The Post.

Several lawmakers in the Peach State and across the country have been the target of fake 911 calls over the past week.
The police were called to the home of Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Christmas Day after a man called a suicide hotline claiming to have shot his girlfriend at the right-wing politician’s home and threatening to kill himself, according to police.
Georgia Republican state senators John Albers, Kay Kirkpatrick and Clint Dixon, as well as Democrat Kim Jackson, were also “hit” on Christmas Day, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

Rep. Brandon Williams (R-NY) had his home in upstate New York “hit” on Christmas Day as well, just hours after Greene’s home was also visited by local law enforcement.
Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) became the third GOP member of Congress “hit” during the holiday break this week when police responded to his home in Naples, Fla., the same night Jones said law enforcement authorities were called to his home .
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, a Democrat, has been “beaten” two weeks after she hosted a controversial holiday party for non-white city council members.
