Convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell attended Chelsea Clinton’s wedding instead of sitting for a deposition in a civil suit filed against Jeffrey Epstein by one of her accusers, according to court documents unsealed Friday.
Maxwell – who is now jailed for recruiting and grooming underage girls for Epstein – was filmed in 2010 peering from the crowd as former President Bill Clinton walked his daughter down the aisle, despite claiming at the time he was tied up with family matters in Britain.
The British socialite was subpoenaed in 2009 to testify in a case brought against Epstein by his alleged victim Virginia Guiffre, according to court documents.
Maxwell initially agreed to be deposed, Guiffre’s attorneys wrote in a 2016 motion.

He coordinated a “convenient time and place” with Guiffre’s attorney and even obtained a “nondisclosure agreement” in exchange for his seemingly credible testimony.
“At the eleventh hour Maxwell’s counsel informed plaintiff’s counsel that Maxwell’s mother was gravely ill and as a result Maxwell left the country with no plans to return,” the filing said.
In view of the proper circumstances, the deposition is cancelled.
Just months later, the sex trafficker appeared as one of 400 guests at a lavish wedding in upstate New York.
“Maxwell was filmed at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding in Rhinebeck, New York, confirming suspicions that he is indeed still in the country and willing to say anything to avoid his deposition,” the filing said.
The claim was made in a 2016 motion to dismiss Maxwell’s request to conceal his financial assets, arguing the money proved he was deeply tied to Epstein’s sex-trafficking operation.

The filing does not specify the nature of the 2009 civil case against Epstein, but it was filed the same year Giuffre sued the pedophile. It was rejected in December of that year.
Giuffre claims he sexually assaulted her when she was 15 and that she “needed to be sexually exploited by [Epstein’s] adult male peers, including royalty, politicians, academics” and others.

Although he has not been accused of any wrongdoing, former President Bill Clinton’s name appears 73 times in newly released papers tied to Epstein.
The former commander-in-chief, who posed for pictures with Epstein and took several rides on his private jet, has long denied having any nefarious ties to the convicted pedophile.
