New documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case reveal that Virginia Giuffre’s victim was accused by defendant Ghislaine Maxwell of receiving large payments to tell a “false” story about the situation.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Maxwell alleges Giuffre conspired with several prominent news outlets to tell a sensational story about Epstein.
Ghislaine Maxwell Accuses Virginia Giuffre of Seeking Attention With Fake Stories
In court documents, Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence, claimed, “Plaintif [Giuffre] solicited public attention for his fabricated stories about Miss Maxwell and others. In other words, the Plaintiff was paid more than $100,000 for her false story to the Daily Mail as well as the sale of photographs purporting to be her and Prince Andrew.”

The document further reads, “[She] then proceeded to gain public attention for his story through (a) interviews with Bradley Edwards and Jack Scarola, (b) through contacts with various literary agents, ghostwriters and news outlets, and (c) through a carefully planned scheme to publish false claims in public appeals in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida, as well as media interviews and other contacts including ABC News, Sharon Churcher, and her alleged work on behalf of Victims Refusing to Silence.”
Maxwell explained in court filings that Giuffre’s many “lacks of character and truthfulness” were covered while the media chose to focus on the many “lies” the victims told about the late Epstein and Maxwell.
As for why the disgraced British socialite failed to speak out about Giuffre’s alleged lies, Maxwell claimed she “decided not to make any further statements about the Plaintiff and her many lies in order to minimize public attention to [her] false allegations, despite ample opportunity to provide additional comments and color of truth, as shown by his email communications provided in discovery.”
The new update comes a day after Giuffre publicly celebrated the release of more than 170 names linked to the Epstein sex-trafficking case. Following the release of unsealed court documents, Giuffre took them Xformerly known as Twitter, to celebrate the news that the website crashed due to high traffic volumes.
“WE BREAK THE WEBSITE ???,” he wrote in a tweet that gained traction among fans. Days before the highly anticipated release of Epstein’s “List,” Giuffre mocked his fellow abuser, writing:
Finally, we heard from US government senators about the need for transparency and calls for accountability!! There will be a lot of nervous people over Christmas and New Years, 170 to be exact, who’s on the naughty list? This could not have happened without the Honorable Judge Preska.”
Ultimately, it’s unclear whether Virginia received any money for her story or photos related to the case. Moreover, it is not clear whether any of the named media were involved in any such payments.
