Gilbert Gottfried (February 28, 1955 – April 12, 2022) was an American stand-up comedian, actor, voice artist and comedian. He provided the voice of Iago in the animated series Aladdin. Additionally, he provided the voice of Digit in the PBS educational animated series Cyberchase.

Gilbert Gottfried was born in Brooklyn, New York City, on February 28, 1955. Not much is known about his family except that his father’s name is Max Gottfried. He has two younger sisters: Arlene Gottfried, a photographer who died in 2017, and Karen Gottfried.
Gilbert began his career as a teenager with stand-up comedy shows in New York, where he became famous and people began to recognize him. In 1980, he appeared on the sketch comedy series “Saturday Night Live.”
In the 1980s, Gottfried landed several acting roles. “Beverly Hills Cop II” was one of his first major films, grossing up to $300 million. Gilbert Gottfried is the great voice actor who played (Iago) in the popular animated comedy-musical adventure “Aladdin,” as well as its sequels “The Return of Jafar” and “Aladdin and the King of Thieves.”
