Before starting acting, Girish used to work as a teacher. He quit his job because of his passion for theater and acting.

After quitting his job as a teacher, he joined the theater. He used to love watching his father Balraj Thapar on stage as he was also a theater artist. Girish made his debut with the drama “Chauraha” in which he played eight different roles. He got many accolades for his first acting. He has also anchored various stage shows.
