For the first time, Bündchen confirmed her beloved mother’s heartbreaking passing with a touching tribute shared on Instagram. “Dear Mom, It hurts to know that I will never be able to hug you again, but I know that you will always watch over us,” the grieving supermodel wrote alongside a carousel of sweet moments shared with her mother.
The upload included a sweet photo of Nonnenmacher bonding with his two children, Vivian and Benjamin. The tribute continued, “You were an angel on earth, always helping everyone around you. I am so grateful to be your daughter and to have learned from you.”
Bündchen expressed her gratitude to her late mother for “being the best example of love, strength, compassion, courage, and grace.” He added, “I will forever cherish the wonderful memories we shared and will cherish the values you taught me. According to reports, Bündchen’s mother Vânia Nonnenmacher died on Sunday following her battle with cancer. He died at the Moinhos de Vento Hospital in Porto Alegre. The late Nonnenmacher was married to Valdir Bündchen, a university professor. The couple welcomed six daughters, including Gisele and her twin sister Patricia.

Sources revealed there will be a wake for Nonnenmacher at the Metropolitan Crematorium in the Ecumenical Chapel of Porto Alegre on Monday morning, after which a farewell ceremony will follow.
