The former Gray’s anatomy The senior writer is glad to no longer have to lie about a rare cancer because he can’t balance all the lies he’s told.

“When you’re involved in a lie, you forget who you’re telling – what you’re telling this person and whether this person knows it – and that’s a world where you can get caught,” he said. “I don’t have to worry about that now.”

Finch revealed by Horn back in March after learning that Disney was investigating the writer for a story he spun about his cancer diagnosis and the devastating effects of the disease.

Basically, nothing about Finch’s story is true. He has never had any form of cancer and none of the side effects have ever occurred. In case you missed it, Finch claims he has chondrosarcoma, a rare bone cancer.

Because of cancer, she claims to have lost a kidney, and a piece of her leg, and had to have an abortion; all of these are side effects from chemo and other treatments. If that wasn’t bad enough, the writer also claims that his own brother had physically abused him as a child.

This led to Finch entering a trauma treatment facility where he met his wife whom he married shortly after leaving the rehab facility. His wife, Jennifer Beyer, actually exposed the writer when she found out that his wife was lying about everything.

The disgraced writer made a lot of money from pretending to have cancer and stealing jobs from people who really deserved them. It would be even more awesome if he was honest and that’s just a great idea.

“I lied when I was 34, and it was the biggest mistake of my life. It got bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and more ingrained in me,” he claims, now 44 years in all ten years later.

“I have never had any form of cancer,” he said aloud after being prompted by Horn to tell him the truth out loud.

More lies, and the opposite truth, began to pour out of the pathological liar’s mouth. He claimed he had a friend pass in the 2018 Tree of Life Synagogue attack… lying. He went there a few times while in college at Carnegie Mellon, that’s all.

He wasn’t allowed on site by the FBI to collect the remains according to Jewish tradition, that’s a painful lie to spin. He also claims his brother who abused him as a child easily killed himself, he is actually a doctor living in Florida.

“I know what I did was wrong,” he admitted.

“I lied and there is no reason for it. But there is a context for it. The best way I can explain it is that when you experience that level of trauma, a lot of people use maladaptive coping mechanisms,” he claimed.

“Some people drink to hide or forget something. Drug addicts try to change their reality. Someone cut it. I lied. That’s how I cope and how I feel safe and seen and heard.” He went on to blame his addiction to lies on a knee replacement in 2007.

“What ended up happening was that everyone was so amazing and so great until all the surgeries. They were very supportive,” she remembers.

“And then I got my knee replaced. It was a great recovery period and then it was quiet because everyone was naturally like Yay! You have recovered, but it is very quiet.” Finch was not used to silence.

“I had no support and reverted to my old maladaptive coping mechanisms — I lied and made things up because I needed support and attention and that’s how I went about it. That’s where the lies begin — in that silence.”

This is where the story of cancer and subsequent lies begins. It’s nice that he apologized but he put a lot of people in his lies and hurt them to get attention. But now we know that it was his “maladaptive coping mechanism”.
