Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose accused of violent 1989 rape in new lawsuit

Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose used his “fame, status and power” to violently rape Penthouse Pet one time in his rock ‘n’ roll heyday, according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday.

Sheila Kennedy, now 61, accused Rose, also 61, of violently assaulting and raping her in a Manhattan hotel room in 1989, according to a complaint filed in New York State Supreme Court.

The assault allegedly occurred in February 1989 after Kennedy – who was Penthouse’s Pet of the Year in 1983 – first met Rose at an unnamed New York City nightclub, the complaint said.

Kennedy was invited to the club by a friend who was a fan of Guns ‘N Roses but, according to the complaint, the model was not particularly familiar with Rose or his band.

After meeting Kennedy, Rose allegedly invited her back to his hotel room on Central Park West but did not want her friend to come along because the woman was “not hot enough” for his taste.

Rose provided cocaine, champagne and other alcohol to her guests, including Riki Rachtman, then host of the MTV show “Headbanger’s Ball,” according to the complaint — which also alleges that Kennedy feared Rose “could become dangerous” if she mixed alcohol and alcohol. prescription pills he said he saw in the bathroom of his hotel suite.

The two shared a kiss at one point, the suit says, and Kennedy was “open to sleeping together [Rose] if things develop and if they continue to find each other attractive.”

But things allegedly took a dark turn as Rose cleared the hotel suite of everyone but herself, Rachtman, Kennedy and another female model.

The four got into bed and Rose allegedly began having sex with the other model in an “aggressive manner” that “appeared painful” to the woman, according to the complaint.

“The encounter quickly became not only uncomfortable but intrusive,” the complaint said.

Kennedy, who did not want group sex, claims she left the room with Rachtman but could hear Rose calling the other model a “whore” and glass breaking.

The “enraged” Guns N’ Roses rocker found Kennedy in Rachtman’s room and “shouted threats” at her, the lawsuit said, knocking her to the floor and dragging her by the hair — “like a caveman” — into his room.

The complaint alleges that Rose then tied Kennedy’s bleeding hands behind her back with pantyhose and appeared to be in a “sexual and erratic rage” as he assaulted her, “forcibly penetrating” her anus without permission.

“He treated her like property used solely for his sexual pleasure,” the complaint said, adding that Kennedy was left with a “lifelong emotional, physical, psychological and financial impact.”

“Simply put, this incident never happened. Notably, this fictional claim was filed the day before the New York State filing deadline. Although he does not deny the possibility that fan photos were taken in passing, Mr. Rose does not recall ever meeting or speaking with the Plaintiff, and had never heard of this fictional allegation before today. Mr. Rose is confident that this case will be resolved in his favor,” said Rose’s attorney Alan S. Gutman in a statement.

Kennedy’s lawsuit was filed shortly before the deadline for New York’s Adult Rescue Act expired at midnight Thursday.

The law allows accusers to file lawsuits against their alleged sexual abusers even after the statute of limitations on their claims has expired.

During her career, Kennedy appeared on the cover of Penthouse four times and was a contestant on the ninth season of “Big Brother.”

Her 2016 memoir, “No One’s Pet,” detailed her 10-year romantic relationship with the Penthouse producer. Bob Guccione.

Se previously made allegations of abuse against Rose in the 2021 British documentary “Pandang Jauh”, about sexual abuse in rock.

“We expect Sheila Kennedy’s decision to file this lawsuit to be an important turning point for the music industry. Unfortunately, his account is all too typical of a culture of violence and sexual misconduct that has been allowed to exist openly for decades,” said Dr. Ann Olivarius, Chair of the Executive Committee at McAllister Olivarius representing Kennedy.
