Guy Ritchie isn’t taking any chances with prop guns on his movie sets. He immediately banned them!
Guy Ritchie Film Set No Guns

The veteran director revealed that he only used Airsoft pellet guns when making his new film Agreement. This is surprising, as the film stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a US sergeant who returns to Afghanistan to rescue an interpreter who helped him during the war.
War… weapons… Do you see what we’re saying? Guy said that some things have changed since actor Alec Baldwin was involved in the prop gun-involved death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. “All those things have changed now; the whole game has changed,” he said News Week magazine.
“We haven’t used a real weapon since (the Rust shooting). So there are no real weapons,” he admitted. “It was the first shoot we had, which I have to tell you, it was an incredible relief for all of us.”
Guy Ritchie Uses Airsoft Guns

The director bragged about how cool Airsoft guns are and are just as good in movies as real guns used as props. ‘(Airsoft guns) look as good as real guns; they perform all the functions of real weapons. You get a gas release,” he says, explaining how they work.
“Everything looks genuine, but like Jake said, it’s Airsoft. No one can get into any trouble.” Ritchie shared that he never consented to the use of firearms and is excited to see the transition finally happen. “I don’t know why we continue to industry with real firearms,” he added.
Ritchie expressed confusion as to why they were taking so long anyway. “It’s one of those things that everybody does, and it’s a tremendous relief, as I’m sure it is for Jake, as it is for me, that you don’t have that sword hanging over us anymore. “
Alec Baldwin Almost Jailed For Prop Gun

Baldwin has been acquitted of any charges he may have to face if he is formally charged with Manslaughter. The gun he handled on the set of the movie rust leaves, accidentally killing Hutchins.
Since the 2021 murder, investigators have been trying to determine who will be punished. “Karat safety coordinator and assistant director David Halls pleaded no contest to a conviction for unsafe handling of a firearm in March.

Instead of jail time, he got a suspended sentence of six months of probation. As for Baldwin, he was shocked by the whole incident. He could go to jail for Manslaughter. Thankfully, that’s off the table for now.
New Mexico’s special prosecutor released a statement, “This decision does not exonerate Mr. Baldwin from criminal wrongdoing, and charges may be refiled.” The information continued, “Our follow-up investigation will remain active and ongoing.”
Baldwin and his lawyers were happy, and since Ritchie made an entire war movie without actual guns, this might become the new norm.
