“You’re coming on your two-year anniversary to Blake Shelton,” Barrymore asked. Responding to this, the “Rich Girl” singer explained by saying, “God put us together. It was one of those situations where I didn’t see it coming.”
Afterwards, Stefani told how she and the 46-year-old met. The duo met as fellow coaches for “The Voice” in 2014.
“I was like, ‘I’m going to wake up every day, I’m going to drink coffee, I’m going to take care of my kids, and then I’m going to sleep.’ Like I’m not going to kiss anybody,” said the No Doubt member. However, things don’t go as he planned as there are surprising changes. “I thought my life was over, and then Blake Shelton was like, ‘Hey. I’m Blake Shelton”, she said.
Barrymore, who paid full attention to the singer, stated that she thought it was “possible” to fall in love by chance.
The 53-year-old elaborated further on his love life, saying, “Finding a good friend, someone who is on the same level morally, or just the way you look at life, that’s the dream.”
He goes on to explain their chemistry. “We think alike about things, but we are very different. Like, he’s watching football and doing his thing, and I’m wearing makeup. We are so different, yet we are so alike on so many levels.”
Highlighting the couple’s romantic structure, Barrymore added, “It’s the perfect balance because opposites attract, expanding each other’s horizons and also giving some room for individuality.”
