Over the weekend the model and her baby nepo pal walked the streets of LA in cropped t-shirts that read, “Nepo Baby”. He proudly wears the title on his chest. A controversial move for the 26-year-old who looks set for a backlash.
The topic has plagued Hollywood for weeks since the article dropped, hosted on vulture and New York Magazine who do deep dives into nepo babies; who they are, where they are, even how well they deserve the fame they experience.
Bieber is not only mentioned in the article he is also featured in the title art with other nepo babies like Zoe Kravitz, Ben Platt, Dakota Johnson, and Lily-Rose Depp. Many cover nepo babies have said their piece on the topic and left it at that but Bieber really doubled down and what? Try to retract that term?

The two blondes chatted about the term nepo baby and the conversation surrounding it on Hailey Bieber’s YouTube channel. Both agreed that while it helped them, it didn’t define their careers.
Many of Bieber’s followers were stunned by the deaf conversation that the nepo baby did. But the actress and model was undeterred and now, Gwyneth is co-signing nepo Bieber’s baby clothes. “I might need some of these,” the 50-year-old wrote in the comments section.

The New York Magazine The article also talks about the older generation of nepo babies like Jamie Lee Curtis who responded without malice in a post on Instagram. “I have been a professional actor since I was 19 years old which makes me the OG Nepo Baby,” he admitted proudly.
“I never understood, nor did I, what qualities got me hired that day, but from my first two lines about Quincy as a contract player at Universal Studios to this last amazing creative year some 44 years later, not a single day even in my professional life that goes by without me being reminded that I am the son of a movie star.”
He also continued to take a strong stand against the negativity surrounding the term. “I’ve adapted and shown up for all kinds of different jobs with thousands of people and every day I’ve tried to bring integrity and professionalism and love and community and art to my work. I am not alone. There are many of us. Dedicated to our craft. Proud of our ancestry. Firm in our belief in our right to exist.”
Some Celebrities Are Pretty Cheeky About It

Other celebrities have spoken out, with Lily-Rose Depp saying, “The Internet seems to care a lot about things like that,” she told Elle magazine to accompany the cover shoot. “People will have preconceived ideas about you or how you got there, and I can definitely say that nothing will get you the part except to be right for the part.”
He later said, “The Internet cares more about who your family is than the people who are directed at you. Maybe you’re stuck at the door, but you’re still at the door.”
He believed the conversation was biased. “If someone’s mother or father is a doctor, and then the child becomes a doctor, you don’t say, ‘Well, you’re only a doctor because your parents are doctors.’ It was like, ‘No, I went to medical school and practiced.’ I just hear more about women, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence.”

Tom Hanks described it as a “family business” to Sun. “This is what we’ve been doing forever. That’s what all our children are raised with.”
Like Depp, he throws analogies out there because that always makes things better. “If we’re a plumbing supply business or if we’re running a flower shop down the street, the whole family will spend time at some point, even if it’s just inventory at the end of the year.”
