On Tuesday in a Utah court, the star attorney announced during opening arguments that her husband, Brad Falchuk, along with their 18-year-old daughter Apple and 16-year-old son Moses, would testify in court.

Her lawyer, Stephen Owens, stated that the actress’ visit to Deer Valley Resort with her family in February 2016 had sentimental value for her, as her father, Bruce Paltrow, died in 2002 at the age of 58.

In a report by PEOPLEshe said, “So it’s a sentimental issue because she’s started skiing again and she’s doing it because she wants her kids to learn like her,” noting that Falchuk, her now-husband, was also present that day.

At the time of the incident, Apple and Moses, who she shared with ex-husband Chris Martin, were 11 and 9 years old respectively. Owens explained that the trip was an opportunity for both of their children to spend time together and see if they could form a bond, making the event a unique and important one.

During the trial, her attorney identified the individuals in the “Iron Man” star ski group on February 26, 2016, as her husband Brad, and her children, Apple and Moses. He also confirmed that they will all testify during the trial.
