On Monday, the five-time Olympic medalist celebrated the launch of her new collection with a series of pictures of her posing in a pink strapless black dress. She named this dress the “Audrey Dress.” In the caption, she explains the inspiration for her new fashion line and who it’s aimed at.
“My debut collection with @giannibiniofficial and @dillards is a tribute to the modern woman, whose fashion needs are as diverse as her calendar. The collection combines classic silhouettes with modern tones and forward materials, while incorporating unique statement pieces that reflect my bold personal style,” she wrote in the caption.
“From festive work parties and holiday gatherings, to cold-weather staples with a twist, to an unforgettable night at the ballet, this collection encompasses the holiday capsule collection of your dreams,” she added. “Shop the collection in stores nationwide or link in my bio!!!!!”
Nastia Liukin Even Released an Olympic-Inspired Varsity Jacket
One of the biggest highlights of her Olympic career was when she became the all-around Olympic champion in 2008. Nastia released a special jacket to commemorate the moment, which is now available for fans to shop. “To the small or big moments that make us feel proud – of ourselves and each other. Excited to introduce you to one of the most special pieces in the collection: THE LAYLA VARSITY JACKET,” she wrote in the caption.
“Taking you all with me for a bit… the year was 1998. I had just won the Level 6 TEXAS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS. 4 gold medals to be exact – I won every event (yes even vault, and got a pet goldfish from that one lol) but second on the bar because I was too high on my actor’s stand,” he continued. “Even so, I was literally on top of the world – In my mind, I’d just won the Olympics… now fast forward exactly 10 years later.”
“Year 2008. And this time I just won the OLYMPIC SPORTS. And to be on top of the same little world as I was one day in 1998 in Texas,” added a fan, gymnastics coach Ashley Del Monte Anton, leaving a lengthy comment thanking her for her work in inspiring future gymnasts.
‘Thank you so much for writing about the inspiration behind this beautiful design’
“Thank you so much for writing about the inspiration behind this beautiful design because it shows how important these moments are to young gymnasts,” Ashley wrote. “As you said winning level 6 stated to you at the time it was like winning the Olympics; that statement only reinforces why it is so important for those in the gymnastics community to put everything into what they do to offer great and meaningful experiences to gymnasts who are young and not yet at the elite level because the sensation of winning has the same relevance at every level.”
“A lot of times you hear statements like oh it’s only level 4, it’s only Xcel bronze, but for that gymnast at that moment, it’s just the biggest and most important moment of her life, and that deserves respect from the coaches and meeting organizers. Thank you for showing this sentiment authentically,” he added.
The 34-year-old entrepreneur has not left her gymnastics behind. In fact, on September 16, she asked her boyfriend Ben Weyand to try cartwheels with her for National Gymnastics Day. “When I asked my boyfriend what to post for National Gymnastics Day…” she wrote in the caption. “PS: this is one of two songs on my Olympic playlist. The other is obvi ‘Lose Yourself’ by @eminem.”
