Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin had fans worried as she showed off her figure and tumble vibes on Instagram earlier this year. Stripping down to a skimpy swimwear look as she enjoyed a shower at one point, the Russian-born sensation uploaded a video summarizing her life, also using her post to talk about “new beginnings” as she welcomes September.
Nastia has made headlines in 2020 for the anorexia storm as she applauds the skinny shy. Now, the five-time Olympic medalist is back to seeing fans worry about his health. Nastia posted a fun video of herself modeling various looks, but she was met with questions as fans expressed concern in the comments.
Welcoming Autumn
The footage shows Nastia snapping a quick selfie in orange gym shorts before slipping her slim frame into a swimsuit.
Modeling a gingham bikini in pink and white, Nastia showed off her long, slim legs and tiny waist, also showing off her hard stomach. Looking super cute in her girly two-piece, the Moscow native stepped into the bathtub, where she closed her eyes before the recording continued.

Also included in the upbeat post was Nastia in tight black booty shorts and a baggy sweater as she walked around her Texas home and lit candles. Here, fans see a chic blonde interior and lots of pink roses. Nasta used singer Taylor Swift’s “August” as she told fans: “Happy September! It’s always Monday + the first day of the month girlie! anyone else? always feels like a fresh start! The best season is almost here!!”
Comments have been pouring in. “I really love her, but I’m so worried about her health,” wrote one fan as more than 140 others agreed. “Oof I hope he’s ok,” said another. Also expressing concern was one fan who said: “All sizes are beautiful and so is she but this looks so unhealthy I don’t know her but speaking from experience this looks like a woman who needs help.”
Anorexia Pat On The Back
Nastia, however, received love as one fan said they liked her fashion sense.
The APL collaborator didn’t respond to the backlash, but he did in 2020 because a fan said he looked “borderline” anorexic.
Saying It’s ‘Offensive’
Speaking about the Instagram DM she received, Nastia said: “It made me feel: defeated, disappointed, sad, annoyed, confused, surprised, and many other feelings. If taking pictures of my OWN body — the body that won me so many Olympic medals, the body that I pushed every day to get stronger, the body that God gave me — actually encourages anorexia, then honestly, we’ve gotten to a place in the world where where BEING is offensive.”
Nastia insists that she eats a healthy and balanced diet and has even updated her social media to show her enjoying a slice of pizza.
