Gypsy Rose Blanchard celebrated her freedom on Sunday after she was released from prison on parole last week following a 10-year sentence linked to her mother’s murder, which left her abused for years.
Gypsy Rose – who convinced her then-boyfriend to kill her mother Claudine “Dee Dee” Blanchard in 2015 – said she was “finally free” and thanked followers for the “tremendous amount of support” as she put together her new e-book and upcoming documentary series .
“I’m finally free” he exclaimed Sunday in a video on TikTok.
“I just wanted to send a quick video to thank everyone for the huge amount of support I’ve gotten on social media. Everyone is so kind and supportive and I really appreciate that.
“It’s nice to be home, I’m back home in Louisiana, enjoying a beautiful day outside.”
Gypsy Rose was released from a Missouri prison last Thursday after serving most of her time in connection with her mother’s murder.
Dee Dee Blanchard forced her daughter to pretend for years that she was suffering from a terminal and debilitating illness.

The mother also forced Gypsy to travel in a wheelchair and use a feeding tube even though she was a perfectly healthy young girl.
Dee Dee suffers from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a psychological disorder in which parents seek sympathy through their children’s fictitious illnesses.
He received many charities through his crazy tricks, including a new house, and even lied to doctors by claiming his son’s medical records were lost in Hurricane Katrina.
Gypsy was also misled about her health by her mother, especially when she was young.

Eventually Gypsy convinced her online boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, to kill her mother, claiming in a 2018 trial that she wanted to be free of her overbearing parents.
Godejohn was convicted of first-degree murder and is serving a life sentence while Blanchard cut a deal to serve 10 years in exchange for pleading guilty to second-degree murder in 2016.
During a minute-long video Sunday, the former inmate reminded her followers to watch the three-episode documentary series “The Prison Confession of Gypsy Rose Blanchard.” The show will be featured on Lifetime next week.
He also said he’s releasing an e-book, “Released: Conversations on Freedom,” and he’s “very proud of” the tome.
“It’s not a repeat of everything that happened, it’s more of my reflection on everything I’ve learned and experienced in the last eight and a half years,” he said.

Blanchard, in another video Sunday, wished supporters a happy new year and said she would ring in 2024 with her husband, Chris Anderson, whom she married last year, and her father and stepfather.
“So we want to celebrate the new year together and it will be wonderful to have family time after such a long time,” he said.
