Gypsy Rose Blanchard has just revealed one of the most shocking confessions about life behind bars.
As you know, the ex-convict — who suffered from Munchausen by proxy at the hands of his mother — was jailed in 2015 for his involvement in the murder of his mother Dee Dee Blanchard.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison but only served seven years before being released on December 28, 2023.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Never Learned How to Use a Tampon
Gypsy recently opened up about never learning to use a tampon until she went to prison. Although she was in her 20s when she was sentenced, Gypsy revealed she was never taught how to use a tampon by her mother because she was often lied to about her age.

“It wasn’t your usual, ‘OK, so I’m going to take you to the store and we’re going to give you a training bra, we’re going to give you pads and tampons,'” she recalled of her upbringing. “None of that. So it was very unusual to learn, and unfortunately, I basically had to come to prison with that skill [Dee Dee] taught me, which is not much.”
Gypsy in a teaser for her upcoming documentary “The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard,” explains that Dee Dee made her wear diapers during her periods. However, that changed when he went to prison.
“[In prison] I’m around women who have been around a block or two, and they have a lot of life experience,” she revealed to People Magazine. “It may not have been the best life experience, but I have gained some positive things from being around other prisoners.”
Gypsy’s highly anticipated documentary is set to premiere on January 5 and she’s sure to spill bombshell details about her turbulent life in and out of prison. However, before that, the 32-year-old woman was enjoying her life as a free and married woman.
Gypsy was picked up from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in northern Missouri by her husband Ryan Anderson in a Cadillac Sedan with a license plate reading “HITMAN” and a camera crew in the back. Gypsy tied the knot with Anderson in June during a prison wedding.
However, her detailed presence in the prison pickup did not sit well with fans who speculated she was with Gypsy only for Gypsy’s fame.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Defends Her Husband
Amid the criticism, Gypsy defended her husband. Under one of Anderson’s Instagram posts, Gypsy encouraged her husband, writing, “Ryan, don’t listen to the haters. I love you, and you love me. We owe nothing to anyone. Our family is important.”
He continued, “If you get good likes and comments, great, if you get hate, then whatever because they DON’T MATTER.”
The ex-convict then stuck it out to his haters, declaring that the source of their jealousy was “because you rock my world every night … yeah, I’m saying, D is [fire]. A happy wife lives a happy life.” A delighted Anderson then replied, “Who said I care what these jealous people say, haha…now get it, Honey…”
Blanchard and Anderson first met when he sent her a letter in 2020. Anderson was inspired by the 2017 HBO documentary “Mommy Dead and Dearest.” Their relationship blossomed, and two years later, they tied the knot.
Gypsy and Anderson recently spoke about their life together, admitting that they were worried about navigating the rift.
“I think the only fear I have is, honestly, just making sure that we have a good conflict [resolution],” Gypsy confessed. “I’m a very ‘in the moment’ kind of person, so I want to make sure if we have an argument, I want to clear it up in the moment. He was … the opposite, where he had to sit on things and think about them, and then come back a few hours later and finish them.”
The couple have only been in a long-distance relationship since they started dating but they are excited at the prospect of living together.
