• • In June 2018, he shared a photo on his Instagram from his trip to Russia. In the picture, he is seen posing in front of a red and white design tent, which shares similar features with the Rising Sun flag, a symbol of Japanese Imperialism. After she posted the photo, people slammed her. Then, he explained his position and said,

    People may be uncomfortable, but it’s not a Rising Sun flag. I love Korea, donating to the community, and volunteering. I think that I have basic knowledge, and think that it is unfortunate that this kind of controversy happens. I may be disappointed that this photo became controversial, but I think it was inevitable. I can’t say ‘Please take a good look at me’ to everyone who looks at me. I respect the opinion of everyone who thinks differently, so that’s fine. I don’t know how other people can think, including journalists, but I don’t think there’s anything I’m ashamed of.”

• In June 2018, he again became controversial when he posted a photo of his painting to announce that he was selling his paintings at an exhibition. Some fans asked him questions related to it and he gave cold answers. It was not liked by netizens, and they criticized him for speaking very rudely.
