The model and wife of one Mr. Justin Bieber has been the subject of complicated online discourse for the past few weeks. Bieber, 25, who has been married to her pop star husband since 2018, continues to be linked to Mr. Bieber’s ex-girlfriend, “Only Murders In The Building” actress Selena Gomez, half a decade after they officially called it quits on and off again.
Mrs. Bieber’s friend (and alleged Gomez nemesis) Kylie Jenner made an appearance in the latest bit of discourse about the two, as did Gomez’s BFF Taylor Swift.
Jenner is thought to be poking fun at the “Rare” singer’s layered eyebrows, which she debuted on TikTok last week. The CEO of Kylie Cosmetics posted an Instagram story in which she drew attention to her eyebrows, explaining that the appearance was not intentional. The 25-year-old posted a second slide showing a screenshot of a FaceTime conversation with Bieber, leading many fans and internet commentators to speculate that the two were poking fun at Gomez.
Swift, 33, became part of the story after Gomez later defended her friend in the comments of a TikTok video, featuring an old clip of Bieber making obscene gestures towards the “Getaway Car” singer. Gomez is also accused of making negative fan-made TikTok comments about Bieber.
The online fire seems unquenchable, nearly a week after Gomez announced she was taking a break from social media. #TeamSelena fans have been flooding the comments section of Bieber’s latest Instagram photo, sparking a barrage of nasty quips.
Gomez Announces Social Media Hiatus After Busy Week, Thinks It’s All ‘Pretty Ridiculous’
The “Hands To Myself” singer doesn’t keep her thoughts on the often trending social media discourse to herself.
Speaking to her fans in a TikTok Live session last week, Gomez said, “I’m going to take some time off from social media because it’s a bit silly. I’m 30. I’m too old for this. But I love you very much and I will see you sooner rather than later.”
In the week since Gomez’s announcement, both Jenner and Bieber have lost significant amounts of Instagram followers; fans also initially speculated that Jenner felt slighted by the fact Gomez recently surpassed her as the most followed female celebrity on the platform.
According to one of The Blast’s coverage of the trio’s alleged feud, Jenner is said to have lost a total of one million followers. He increased from 380 to 379 million.
In Bieber’s corner of the internet, the Gomez-related drama managed to creep into his birthday tribute to Justin on March 1.
Commentators cited Bieber’s claims of “stalking” Gomez for several years. Many forms of social media focused on highlighting the reported similarities between the two women, including Bieber and Gomez’s matching “G” tattoos. The subject of Hailey allegedly stalking her husband is now also starting to spread.
“Hailey…. The original ‘YOU’ or maybe he could be in season 5?,” one follower commented on Bieber’s birthday tribute to his hubs.
“Is it true that he stalked her until he finally got her?” another asked.
“Go girl,” wrote another follower. “I felt sorry for you at first with all the comments but now you’re exposing yourself,” another weighed in.

The harsh treatment of Bieber continued on Friday evening after he posted several selfies in which he wore an orange turtleneck.
Attention quickly shifted from Bieber’s look to the non-talking elephant in the comments section.
