It’s time to pour the tea on all engagements for Hailie Jade Scott and her fiance Evan McClintock. During a recent episode of Scott’s podcast, “Just A Little Shady,” the couple told the story of their engagement and how McClintock got Scott’s famous dad’s blessing.
Scott’s longtime boyfriend asked her to marry him on February 4th, and of course, she said, “yes.” So now the two are revealing how it all came together, from choosing a ring to asking Eminem for approval.

During a recent podcast episode premiering the new set, Scott and McClintock revealed all the behind-the-scenes details of their recent engagement.
Scott talked about how “peaceful” McClintock usually is and wanted to know if he was as peaceful and calm when planning to pop the question. “You have to tell us all the details because honestly, I don’t know everything,” Scott said. “Can you tell us about this process? When did you get the ring? When did you know you were going to propose?”

McClintock explained that he wasn’t very calm during the planning, and it was early summer when he first thought about seriously proposing. “That’s when I started thinking about it, thinking about potential plans to do it,” he explained. “I got the ring the day after Christmas.”
He then asked if she went to the store to pick out the ring or if she ordered it. “So, I shopped between Thanksgiving and Christmas. That was in the store,” she said. “Try to go to the store, I’ll give you an excuse.” She went on to explain that she didn’t find anything while shopping in the store- store, and his sister ends up helping him by telling him what not to get and pointing him in the right direction.

The conversation then turns to how they met and broke up with how McClintock asked Eminem for his blessing. The couple had been dating for about six or seven years and ran in the same circle of friends before dating. The two later went to the same college before becoming a couple.
“It’s been a long time. We actually started officially dating in college,” she said. “So you’ve been through the whole thing, you’ve been through the whole process. You’re asking for permission, just like a family vacation,” Scott said.
McClintock jumped in to tell his story. “Throughout the holidays, I was just looking for opportunities not to make it too obvious,” he said. “I saw your father coming downstairs, I thought, well I have to do it now or I don’t do it today I have to schedule it for another time, so I followed him downstairs.”
Scott said he didn’t know what was going on. “Thankfully, when the actual engagement was being planned, according to you, none of my friends gave me the slightest clue,” he said. “It got to the point where I was like out of my mind because I was like I would know if he planned it. Like I just thought that I would know, and it got to the point where I was like I don’t think he ever did.”

Scott shared his big news on Instagram with a carousel of photos from the night with the caption, “a casual weekend look back… ?? 2.4.23 ? I love you @evanmcclintock11.”
Many of Scott’s followers commented to congratulate the couple and leave funny words.
“I wonder if the knees are weak and the arms are heavy,” wrote one. Another added, “Imagine having to ask the best rapper, for his daughter’s wedding… Boy, you better treat her like a Queen or there will be a whole album that will ruin your life forever…”
