Haley scolds Ramaswamy during Republican debate: ‘Every time I hear you I feel a little bit dumber’

Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley doesn’t care how she feels about the genius of biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

He angered Haley by defending his TikTok collaboration with influencer Jake Paul.

“There’s really only one person in the Republican Party who talks a big game about reaching young people, and that’s me,” the 38-year-old said.

“TikTok is one of the most dangerous social media assets we can have,” Haley responded when it was her turn.

“Honestly, every time I hear you I feel a little stupid.”

He briefly touched on national security concerns surrounding TikTok and referenced its historical ties to the Chinese Community Party.

“We would be better off as a Republican Party if we didn’t sit here throwing personal insults and actually have a legitimate debate about policy,” Ramaswamy responded afterward.

Haley, 51, previously stood by Ramaswamy during the first debate as well, taking aim at his foreign policy views.

Ramaswamy emerged as something of a political backstab during the first match, and many of his rivals were keen to differentiate themselves from him during the second debate.

At one point, Haley’s compatriot from South Carolina, Sen. Tim Scott, blasted the youngest candidate over recent reports about her past business dealings with China.

“Vivek just said we are all good people, and I appreciate that. Because of the last debate, he said we are all bought and paid for,” the 58-year-old said.

“I thought about that for a while,” he continued. “I can’t imagine how you can say that, knowing that you only do business with the Chinese Communist Party and the same people who financed Hunter Biden millions of dollars are your partners too.”

Former Vice President Mike Pence, 64, also took aim at Ramaswamy, tearing into his opposition to military aid to war-torn Ukraine.

Ramaswamy is currently polling in fourth place in the latest RealClearPolitics aggregate of the 2024 Republican pack.
