I have a great money saving idea.
Americans want to reign in their government spending.
So I have a suggestion.
Stop sending money to terrorists.
Earlier this week I returned to Gaza with the Israel Defense Forces. This time I entered on foot through the Eretz crossing where Hamas forces attacked on the morning of October 7, killing several soldiers and kidnapping others. Intense battle scenes can be seen everywhere.
But our destination is within the strip. In particular, the entrance to the vast tunnel that Israel has just discovered is only 400 meters from the Israeli border. It is part of a vast underground network built by Hamas over the past 16 years.
And this one is a real spectacle. The project to build it was led by Muhammad Sinwar, brother of Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader who planned the October 7 massacre. There is indeed footage of Yahya Sinwar riding through this exact tunnel.
I say “ride” because this tunnel is not some kind of bunny rabbit. It is a vast tunnel, designed to allow military-sized vehicles to travel underground, allowing Hamas to go from one end of Gaza to the other while avoiding Israeli detection. This part of the tunnel alone stretches over four kilometers.
The fact that this opening is so close to the Israeli side of the border and hidden suggests that this is one of the tunnels that Hamas used that morning to carry out their battalion-sized terror attack on Israel.

It’s a very sophisticated system, as I saw when I went deep into the tunnel. It’s more like a subway system than a rat run. Although many rats come this way.
So why am I saying that the American taxpayer can save money here?
Because our tax dollars help build this system. It is American, European and other taxpayer dollars that are used to build this terrorist infrastructure.
In 2006, Hamas won the foolishly held elections in Gaza. They then stage a bloody coup against their opponents.
In particular, they targeted members of rival Palestinian groups such as Fatah – throwing them off buildings and shooting them in the back, before dragging their bodies through the streets. That ensured Hamas never held another election but remained in power in Gaza to this day.
Of course, billions of dollars have been given to them since then. From a bewildering variety of countries. All of them seem to think that they are somehow helping the Palestinians in Gaza. We do not.
All of this money was used by Hamas leaders to buy themselves luxury condominiums in Qatar and other foreign climes. Inside Gaza, almost none of this money goes to help the Palestinians in Gaza. Instead Hamas is using the funds they didn’t steal to build this underground terrorist network that goes out in hospitals, mosques, and other places that the international community considers holy, but Hamas doesn’t.
And why do I say “we”? Because American taxpayers are among the people being fooled into sending money to these terrorists.
Since 2007, the US has sent over $400 million in taxpayer money to Gaza. That was after the coup in which Hamas seized power. This is the official figure released by USAID (United States Agency for International Development. USAID also says that it has paid more than $500 million between 2021 and the end of this year.
The money may also have gone to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank. And I can tell you from traveling there many times that I know where our taxpayer money goes too. They went to equally corrupt Fatah officials who built their own mansions that would be the envy of many a homeowner in the Hamptons.
And even that is not the end. Because the US is also stupid enough to continue funding the UN agency UNRWA. This is one of the most corrupt entities even in the UN. That says something. And in 2021 alone, the US is UNRWA’s single largest donor, shoveling in an astonishing $338 million.
Other countries have also taken to mugs.
The EU spent more than $100 million in Gaza this year. But EU countries do not give as much money to UNRWA as America does. The US is far and away the biggest donor. The next largest is Germany with only $176 million going annually to the organization. In total, US agencies have funneled billions of dollars into Gaza in recent years. And all this money is not to improve the lives of Palestinians, but to build palaces for Hamas and tunnels for their weapons and terrorists.

Hamas officials have even said that they consider the tunnel to be for their terrorists. The whole world aims to take care of the actual public.
I beg to differ. And I also ask the American officials to be wise. Our taxpayer dollars have been funneled to terrorist groups every year since 2007. And now we know what we got for it. An attack on our ally in Israel.
Want to save money? This is one way.
Why Gays Survive at Harvard
Claudine Gay is staying at Harvard. Only. The unprincipled principal this week had another set of plagiarism allegations leveled against him. It seems now that Gay cannot write a confession in his work without taking it from the work of others.
It seems that allegations of plagiarism that would have gotten a Harvard student expelled did not get the University’s president expelled.
But there was something about Gay that protected him. She is not only a woman, but black. It seems that this gives him a field of protection even if he shows himself to be a plagiarist. Not to mention a morally ignorant person.
But like her cousin, feminist activist Roxanne Gay, Claudine is a very special and entitled person. Like his cousin, he’s just looking for a way to get rid of the stupid system of our time. Both have successfully used the modern American DEI obsession as a force field.
I wonder how long the force field will last? After all, there are plenty of talented black women who could hold that role. And not cover their path with deception to get there.
