A Hamas terrorist killed in the October 7 terror attack in southern Israel was found carrying instructions on how to deploy a cyanide-based chemical bomb, Israeli officials have revealed.
The instructions included detailed diagrams for a “cyanide dispersal device” and were stored on a USB found on the body of the Hamas operative who killed Kibbutz Be’eri, according to Israeli intelligence reviewed by Axios.
“This discovery shows Hamas’ intention to use chemical weapons as part of its terrorist attacks against civilians,” a cable sent by Israel to its embassy read.
The cable advised the embassy to inform its diplomats that Hamas had been ordered “to carry out attacks in the same way that ISIS is trying to do.”
Israeli President Isaac Herzog confirmed the existence of the order during an interview with Sky News on Sunday, revealing it originated from Al Qaeda’s design for chemical weapons dating back to 2003.
“It’s Al Qaeda material. Official Al Qaeda material. We are dealing with ISIS, Al Qaeda and Hamas,” said President Herzog.

“This is a shocking situation when we see the instructions given on how to handle and how to create a kind of non-professional chemical weapon with cyanide.”
Israeli officials have repeatedly compared Hamas to groups like ISIS – a terrorist group known for using horrific violence as it tries to impose extremist Islamic law around the world – since its attack on the Jewish homeland two weeks ago.
“The atrocities committed by Hamas have not been seen since the atrocities of ISIS,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a speech shortly after the attack.
“Children tied up and executed with their entire families, women and men shot in the back, killed, and other atrocities I will not describe here.”

Hamas even carried ISIS flags to some Kibbutz people who were attacked during the ambush, according to images released by Israel Defense Forces soldiers.
Israel has revealed other intelligence reportedly found on the bodies of Hamas agents, including battle plans to “kill as many people as possible” and take hostages as they raid and burn civilian villages.
Some of the plans reportedly included clear instructions to target schools to abduct children en masse and indicated locations where large groups of people might be found such as supermarkets and dining halls.
