Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams wants to “look loud” on stage despite her introverted personality.
The 34-year-old singer may be petite at 5’2″, but she has a big voice and a commanding stage presence that often accompanies her bold hair color.
From “Misery Business” red, orange and yellow hair to “Still Into You” pink and orange split hair, Hayley has proven that she can wear every color under the rainbow, leaving many wondering what color her new hair may be trying to get a kick out of Paramore’s 2023 arena tour, which kicks off in May.

In a recent interview with Page Six Style, the “Running Out of Time” singer admitted that even though she has an introverted personality, she likes to “look loud,” especially when she’s on stage.
“I like to feel like I look strong because sometimes that helps my introverted self feel bolder,” Hayley says, noting that her bandmate used to dye her hair “with a box of red dye from Walgreens” after the band first formed in Franklin, Tennessee, in 2004.

However, in 2006, she met hairdresser Brian O’Connor, who is now the co-founder of the hair dye brand Good Dye Young. At the time they met, though, she was working as an apprentice at the Pink Mullet Salon in Franklin, Tennessee.
“If it wasn’t for Brian, I wouldn’t be known for my hair,” Hayley recalls, adding that the two “pretty much instantly became creative together.”
It was really Brian who created the “Misery Business” hair that has become so iconic. She has also created the look for the “Emergency” music video and many of her hairstyles since then.

The two launched semi-permanent hair color brand Good Dye Young in 2016, and, just last year, opened a salon called Fruits Hair Lab in Nashville.
“I’ve always wanted to tell a story with Hayley’s hair,” says Brian. “Hayley is a tiny human — she’s a grown woman, but she’s so tiny. Anything that sparkles or draws attention basically goes into that twist that first night,” he added, referring to the opening night of Taylor Swift and her massive Eras Tour.

Paramore opened for the “All Too Well” singer in Glendale, Arizona, on March 17. She accessorized her voluminous bouffant with faux pearls and a sparkling clip to ensure Hayley stood out on the big stage.
When asked how he styled the “This Is Why” singer, Brian revealed that he turns to the music, or even the lyrics, to understand what the song is trying to say. “I hear a song or a snippet or a lyric, and that’s when my mind really starts painting this picture that coincides with what he’s trying to convey — not just through his music but through himself,” he explains.

Recently, it looks like Hayley’s latest hair color has included a mix of orange and red with long black extensions. It is unclear whether Hayley will keep up the appearance before the 2023 arena tour begins in May. When it comes to experimenting with her hair, Hayley admits that she and Brian are “not too precious about all this—.”
