Heart-pounding video captures moment IDF soldiers take out Hamas terrorist throwing grenades at them

A thrilling new video shows Israeli soldiers confronting a Hamas terrorist as he throws a grenade at them before being taken out.

The footage, which was uploaded Monday from southern Gaza, shows Israel Defense Forces soldiers first opening fire on Hamas’s Khan Younis Brigade outside its commander’s house.

During the shooting, a grenade suddenly exploded near the Jewish soldiers, who turned to find a Hamas member just a few feet away, running and looking ready to throw another grenade at them.

But IDF troops were quickly able to take out the gunman, whose body fell in a pile of dirt where the soldiers were taking cover.

An examination of the body revealed that the terrorist was carrying a knife and more hand grenades, Israel said.

The IDF said none of the soldiers who clashed with the militants were injured.

The attack on the Khan Younis Brigade came as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu touted the IDF’s advance in Gaza on Monday, claiming that 75% of Hamas battalions there had been destroyed so far, the Times of Israel reported.

“We are on our way to full victory,” Netanyahu said during an event with the IDF’s 8104th Battalion. “We are committed to it, and we will not let it go.

“We will not end the war without achieving this goal of total victory, which will restore security in the south and the north,” he added.

The prime minister estimated during a recent war cabinet meeting that 18 of the 24 Hamas battalions had been destroyed since the war began, with officials stating that some 10,000 terrorists had been killed so far.

The estimate comes as the death toll in Gaza topped 27,000 over the weekend, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry, which does not distinguish between civilians and terrorists.

The accuracy of Israel’s Hamas death count has yet to be confirmed, as two weeks ago, US intelligence officials told the Wall Street Journal that only 20% to 30% of the group in Gaza had been killed.

Netanyahu noted that as the IDF advanced to eliminate Hamas, the Israeli military was also working to eliminate the terrorist’s 300-mile network of tunnels that allowed the group to hide and launch counterattacks.

“This will take more time,” Netanyahu told his ministers about the need to secure Gaza.
