Heartless shoplifters abandon 3-month-old baby at Walmart in bid to evade cops

A heartless shoplifter who fled a Philadelphia Walmart to avoid capture left behind a 3-month-old baby girl, according to police.

Security on Byberry Street reported trying to stop a woman and two men from swiping merchandise at about 11 p.m. Thursday, NBC Philadelphia said.

When the suspects fled, they left behind a 3-month-old girl they were taking with them, police said.

The baby was taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital for examination and is said to be in good condition.

Police believe they have identified the girl, and have been in contact with one of her parents, who they do not believe was involved in the foiled shoplifting, but have not said if the child has been linked to any law enforcement sources. told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
