As PEOPLE reported, Mirren participated in a film event in 2019 called “Helen Mirren and Hawk Koch Discuss the Wonder of Film.” During the event, Mirren discussed the “shameful lesson” she learned when she had tea with the Queen herself a few years before she died.

“He invited me to tea,” Mirren explained at the time. “I thought it was going to be in a room with 200 other people, which it usually is. So I said, ‘Oh, I can handle that.’ So it was at the stables and a message came to me that the Queen wanted to invite you to tea, she knew you were here.”
