Star Stowe, who rose to fame and was friends with members of the famous rock band KISS, was found strangled outside a drugstore in Florida when she was in her early 40s. Star Stowe was last seen alive on March 15, 1997, riding in a customer’s car. The next day, he was found face down and strangled behind a Coral Springs Eckerd pharmacy. Despite the lack of leads, the case was quickly connected to Sandra Kay Walters, another sex worker who was found strangled to death. A series of similar murders followed, with female victims found dead in and around the neighborhood. The case ran into problems and remains unsolved to this day. Police suspect it was the work of a serial killer.
