Actor Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, are celebrating the birthday of their son, Rafael Thomas.
The Baldwin family continues to grow by the day, with Alec’s first daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger, Ireland Baldwin, welcoming her first child with her boyfriend, RAC, last month. The “30 Rock” actor also welcomed his eighth child, a daughter named Ilaria, with Hilaria, last September.
Another Baldwin birthday just arrived, with Rafael turning 8. On Saturday, Hilaria took to Instagram to reminisce about the “difficult” aftermath and shared a montage of her son’s sweet birthday with photos commemorating his birth and the past few years of his growing life with his siblings.

On Saturday, the Bostonian took to Instagram to share a video montage of their son, Rafael Thomas, who is now 8 years old. The photos featured them showing their little one sleeping as a baby and holding him in hospital before they were cut into him when he was older. In one shot, Hilaria is lying on the floor and hugging him next to the bed. In another photo, he kisses her cheek while holding her.
He posed with his brother in another shot before the whole family gathered to celebrate his birthday in front of a “Naruto” themed cake. “Happy Birthday Rafa!” flowed across the front of the cake in black cursive, while the sides of the cake were completely covered in colorful sprinkles.
“Happy 8th birthday Rafael Thomas!” Hilaria wrote in the caption. “These days, my mind always goes back to the story of their birth, and Raf is a tough guy. 23 hours in labor, born a month early, came out blue, and had difficulty breathing.”

“I told her today about nurse Nicu and what a wonderful human being she is—warm, kind, supportive. They kept him in that little incubator carefully changing him, and comforting my broken self, at the time,” he explained. “How they guided us to get his tube out, when he was ready, was able to get his hand through the hole, then take it out and hold it…and finally bring it home.”
“I am forever grateful to you angels, who helped my baby live. My biggest boy: thanks for the kiss and let me try to hold you, while you pretend to suck your thumb… you are a football star, so funny, smart, kind, an inspiration to us all…we are so love you so much, and celebrating you is a joy,” he concluded.
Family friends and fans are quick to say “Happy Birthday!” message. “Happy birthday to him!!! You two are amazing souls,” commented one fan. “Happiest Birthday ever. Sweet Rafa, I hope your day is full of magic and happiness,” wrote another follower. “Rapha. You can be whoever you want! You grew so big and strong. Everyone loves you. Hilaria Shares Love For Her Son Leo Too!
Just two days ago, the podcast host took to Instagram to share a video of himself dancing with his son, Leo. The video begins with the two rubbing noses as Hilaria holds them in her arms. At this point, he’s just a baby. Now much older, Hilaria had a harder time holding him in her arms.
He was able to dance with her on his hip for a few minutes before finally letting her down. He was getting so tall that Hilaria could actually let him spin her. The two hug and rock side to side as the video ends.

“Leo is my little dance partner. Last night we tried to recreate this video of us dancing, right after he was born…I think the next thing is him holding me,” she wrote in the caption. “FYI: there’s always a rainbow hanging over your head. Love you all.”
