While chatting with Josh Peck and Ben Differ on their podcast, “Good Guys,” the actor talked about some things in his life and explained how he was able to re-emerge as his own person after Disney.
After her stellar role in the channel’s eponymous show, she shared that she needed to establish her own identity. He explained that he wanted to break away from the character that made him famous and recognized for his talent and abilities.

The mother of three stated that she doesn’t want to be that character anymore, no matter how “cool” the character is. He stated that for a very long time:
“people were like ‘Lizzie, Lizzie, Lizzie.’ However, now to this day, it doesn’t bother me anymore, but it happens for a while, I really need to be myself.”
The author decided to get into music because he felt it was the best way to distract people from seeing him as a famous fictional character. “I think I thought music would be a good way to introduce myself, reintroduce myself, and it was,” he said.
The 35-year-old revealed that it was not an easy road, and it took five years of his life to navigate to the person he wanted to be without outside influence. In his words:
“I remember being on tour and having my mother come up to me and say, ‘Don’t ever change! Whatever you do, never, never, never change!’”
He stated that it didn’t help him to hear them, even though he was sure they meant well. When asked if he’s still making music, the “How I Met Your Father” star said he hasn’t worked on any new songs in a while.
She recalled that while on vacation in Mexico with her husband a long time ago, fans found out where they were staying and sang her songs to her all night. He stated that in addition to having three children to take care of, such a situation was part of the reason he decided not to make music for a while.

The couple, who dated for three years before getting engaged, exchanged their wedding vows in an intimate ceremony held in their Los Angeles backyard in 2019.
Three years and a few kids later, The Blast shared that he celebrated their third wedding anniversary by sharing some adorable snaps on social media.
She posted a carousel of photos featuring their journey together, such as the first image, which showed the couple walking down the aisle after their wedding ceremony, to a mirror selfie of the couple holding her little baby bump.
Other touching memories include visiting a herd of Alpacas and cuddling their babies in the sun, an old image of Duff with green hair and Koma wearing earrings, and a family portrait taken near the ocean on the beach.
She gushed in the caption, “Matthew. I love you so much. Happy 3 years! I don’t know if you know what you’re getting into or you won’t sleep or sit for the next 5-10 years, but I think, for the most part, you’re pretty happy about it. Our lives are so full, and I’m so grateful to the man I can do all this craziness with.”
