The Houston woman’s apartment was destroyed within hours by an unusual intruder — who undressed and changed into her underwear and top before wrecking the place.
Allana Mitchell, who works as a cook, left her apartment in downtown Houston on October 14 at 7pm for a catering job and then had a drink with friends – only to return home a few hours later unable to get into her unit.
“It’s like it’s locked from the inside. I went around the building and saw my lights come on,” Mitchell told Fox 26. “I’ve never done that. There were even things thrown from my balcony.”
Despite calling the Houston police and the management of his building that night, he was only able to return home 24 hours later, when he found all his belongings, food, equipment and clothes haphazardly thrown away.

“There was food all over the floor, it was a mess,” Mitchell said. “Flowing water. I lost everything.”
To his horror, Mitchell discovered that the intruder had changed clothes during his robbery. He found that he had left his clothes behind, including his underwear, and had taken a pair of underwear and a T-shirt that he had slept in the night before.
“My neighbor’s ring camera caught him knocking on the door,” he said. “He was wearing my underwear and the t-shirt I slept in the night before. Her underwear was on the floor with her hospital gown.”

Disturbing ring video camera footage taken in the hallway shows the man wandering around, as if calling for someone.
“I’m more grateful when I know it’s not someone watching me. That just someone lost their mind, which happened to me in the right place at the right time for them. Because he has the ball in my place,” he said.
When Mitchell went to his property management about the incident, they told him it sounded personal.

“How is it personal? I do not know him. They could be more compassionate about the situation,” Mitchell said. “I did talk to the regional manager, and he said they’re going through training, but I don’t think you need training to show compassion.”
Mitchell was told by maintenance staff that his key fob had been used on his door between 12am and 2am that night, although he said he had both keys with him. He also said he was told none of the building’s security cameras were working.
The California native moved to Houston seven months ago but doesn’t plan on staying at the complex much longer. He said he’s also thankful he has renters insurance.
Police are still investigating the case and have not named any suspects.
