Prince Harry may have moved to the US. However, that distance wasn’t enough to stop the Duke of Sussex from paying his respects to his late grandmother!
The second son of King Charles recently returned to the UK in conjunction with the first anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The longest-reigning monarch of the British Empire died on September 8, 2022, at the incredible age of 96.
The late king’s grandson paid tribute to the former Head of the Commonwealth days after showering him with praise at a charity event. However, he commemorated the deceased on behalf of his wife and two children, who live at their home in California.
Prince Harry Pays Tribute to His Grandmother Queen Elizabeth II By Visiting Her Funeral Site
The author of “Spare” was found on Friday, September 8, in the Chapel of St. George at Windsor Castle. The place has an emotional connection with the former working royal as it is where he tied the knot with his longtime partner, Meghan Markle, in 2018.

The site also serves as the burial ground of her late grandmother, her grandfather, Prince Philip, and other prominent members of the British Empire. After her passing at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, Queen Elizabeth was transferred to the King George VI Memorial Church on September 19 after her funeral and state honors.
EVERYONE, Prince Harry honored the former ruler with a private visit to his final resting place. Additionally, royal sources claimed that other members of the royal family paid the same respect by visiting the late king’s burial site on the first anniversary of his death.
As revealed, the father-of-two visited his grandmother’s grave after speaking about her passing at a charity event. The 38-year-old traveled to the UK to attend the annual WellChild Awards in London on Thursday, September 7.
The Duke of Sussex has long been an investor in charity projects, benefiting terminally ill children. However, he was unable to attend the 2022 ceremony as it coincided with his grandmother’s death.
While presenting the award for Inspirational Child to Violet Seymour, the youngest recipient of the night, the military veteran took time to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth. Reflecting on her passing, “The Me You Can’t See” star claimed that the dead ruler would have wanted her to attend the event at the time of her death.

“As you know, I was unable to attend the awards last year because my grandmother passed away,” the father of two began. “As you may also know, he’ll be the first to point out that I’m still coming to be with you all instead of going to him.”
“And that’s why I know, a year on, he’s looking down on us all tonight, glad we’re together continuing to highlight that incredible community,” Prince Harry said.
Before visiting his grandmother’s grave, a working representative of the former royal has revealed the 38-year-old and his wife will hold a solo memorial service for the late monarch. “The Duke, the Duchess, and their families will personally recognize and honor the Queen on the anniversary of her passing,” the source said.
Queen Elizabeth II’s Death Certificate Confirms Her Official Cause of Death
Prince Harry’s private visit to his grandmother’s burial site may have brought back fond memories he shared with the former Queen and how it all ended last year. The official cause of death of the former Head of Commonwealth was announced a few weeks after his death.
The first statement released by the Royal Family’s official social media page announced the king’s passing without revealing the cause of his death. The message read: “The Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
