Huge McDonald’s order brought into court during Trump’s fraud trial

A super-sized McDonald’s order was brought to a Manhattan court on Monday as former President Donald Trump fights a $250 million civil fraud case.

Staff in suits were seen hauling bag after bag containing the iconic McDonald’s Golden Arches into the Center Street complex during a lunch break for the proceedings — where Trump is accused of inflating the value of his business empire to $2.2 billion.

While it wasn’t immediately clear who made the order, the former president’s affection for Mickey D’s has been well documented.

Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and former senior adviser wrote in his 2022 memoir “Breaking History” that the 2024 GOP front-runner’s favorite dishes from all-American burger chains include Big Macs, Filet-o-Fish, French fries, and vanilla shakes.

Trump’s love of fast food has often been on display during his tenure as commander in chief. In January 2019, he famously greeted the Clemson Tigers football team that won the NCAA National Championship at the White House with McDonald’s burgers and Chick-fil-a sandwiches.

“We have Big Macs, we have Quarter Pounders, we have everything that I like and you like,” Trump said at the time.

Although he faced criticism, both for the menu and for hosting the event amid a partial government shutdown, in typical Trump style he was undeterred.

Just two months later he hosted the Division I FCS champion North Dakota State Bison in the Diplomatic Room of the White House, which was decorated with heaps of fast food, including McDonald’s.

But if the calorie-rich lunch delivered to the former president was clearly not enough to curb Trump’s “will”.

The former president fumed to reporters outside court during a lunch break that the trial was “interfering with the election,” calling it a “disgrace.”

Much of his anger was directed at New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron, the judge who oversaw his fraud case.

“This is a judge who should be out of office. This is a judge that some people say could be criminally charged for what he did,” Trump said.

The fraud lawsuit, filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James, accuses both Trump and his sons Eric and Don Jr. a decades-long scheme to financially benefit by overstating the value of the Trump Organization’s real estate holdings. Trump’s two sons, the former president, and his daughter Ivanka are all on the witness list.

The non-jury trial is expected to end in late December.
