A human skull was donated to Arizona Goodwill in a box full of other items this week – shocking the workers who made the gruesome discovery.
The skull was confirmed to be real and human after an employee at a thrift store location in Goodyear called police to investigate Tuesday.
Officers showed up and removed the skeletal remains which were then taken to the medical examiner’s office in case they were linked to a missing persons case.

The medical examiner determined that the skull was human, however, investigators did not suspect foul play, a Goodyear Police Department spokesman said.
“It appears to be historic, ancient and appears to have no forensic value at all,” said police public information officer Lisa Berry. “And the point is that there is no crime attached to this skull.”
It is not known who donated the human skull which was causally packed among other items in the donation bin.

It is also a mystery as to whose the skull, which is missing its lower jaw and has one socket filled with false eyes, belongs to.
